The Green Mile is still one of my favorite Stephen King stories, and Frank Darabont’s film version is an exquisite adaptation of the books. One of the many reasons for its success was Michael Clarke Duncan, who was so moving as John Coffey. So it was with great sadness that I heard of his death today, at the young age of 54. He was great in every movie he was in (even if the movies weren’t always that great) and he also seemed like a really nice guy. RIP, sir, you will be missed.
